BECOMING WISE IN
HIM
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise persons but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the
Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17
In many
of Paul's exhortations to the people of the churches, he spoke of being wise in the ways of the Lord. Paul knew, as should we, that God's wisdom is available to us today. Most importantly, we have
the Holy Spirit to lead us. As we walk in this world, we must walk with the wisdom of God. The enemy stands ready to de-ceive us, to misguide us, and to trick us. But if we walk with the wisdom of
God and the Holy Spirit leading, we will have great discernment in order to know what parth to take.
Paul's
great exhortation here is to not be foolish. As we walk in this life, there will be many decisions to make. For though our time on this earth is short as compared to eternity, there will pe many
decisions to be made which will affect us and the lives of our family and friends. Therefore, we must always be alert and vigilant. The flesh must stay crucified. We must be alert to the wiles of the
enemy. Most of all we must be istening as the Holy Spirit speaks to guide us. Study the word! Get His word/wisdom in you. Then expect Holy Spirit to lead!
