RAISED UP WITH HIM
If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where
Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in
God.
Colossians 3:1-3
Some
might think that this is an invitation to become "too heavenly-minded." But, in actuality, this is not the intent. It instructs us to learn of God, His way, and His plan for
us.
To set
our mind upon the things above, we must learn to have Father's heart in us. We must seek to learn what His heart for us is, and how we can emulate Him in the earth. Father's values and desires are
totally different than the average human. His heart is full of agape love for all of His creation. This is what we must learn to follow as we seek to bring glory to Him and His Kingdom into the
earth.
When
Paul says that we have "died", he is, of course, not speaking literally. He is referring to the change in our walk and in our priorities now that we are followers of Jesus Christ. Our life is truly
hidden in Christ Jesus. When Father sees us, He sees Christ in us. He desires to lead us to speak to others about Jesus. When we share our hope in Christ, then we can be a true witness to others.
They can see Christ in us and not our old self (man). Let Father use us to glorify His Son!!
