THE HOPE
OF OUR HEART
....we who have fled for refuge in laying hold of the hope set before us. This hope
we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil.
Hebrews 6:18b-19
The world has offered us nothing of substance. Riches, glory, honor, fame are all fleeting. And,
to gain those things, we sometimes have to compromise our own principles. When we leave this earth, then none of those things will keep us nor do they offer a promise for eternity. Those who pursue
those things will end their lives disappointed either here or in the afterlife.
Now, there is a greater and more perfect option. Father God, through His Son, has offered us a
better hope. He has offered us eternity with Him in the heavens. It is a hope which is both sure and steadfast. In other words, you can know with a certainty that it is true because He is both real
and true.
Not only that, but He, through His Son, Jesus, has opened the way for us. We could not of our
action earn this prize. But, through His love, He has given His Son as an offering for our sins. Jesus went into heaven into the holiest place and sprinkled His perfect blood on the altar to make a
way for us. Now we know by that act that we can enter boldly into God's grace. That hope keeps us living for Him!
