OBEDIENCE AND BLESSING
Therefore they were saying to him, "How then were your eyes opened?" He answered, "The man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to Siloam, and wash'; so I
went away and washed, and I received sight."
John
9:10-11
Have you
ever wondered, "What if the man had never gone to the pool?" What if he had gone to the pool, but had never washed his eyes? Would partial obedience have given him his sight? How does Father see
disobedience?
Father
God has said throughout His word that we are to be obedient to the word. This includes the written word and the Spirit-led word. Father has promised in His covenantal word that when we obey Him, then
we will receive His blessing. But disobedience brings punishment. Failure to do as directed will not be blessed and will cause us to bear the penalty of the disobedience. We will not be healed nor
blessed!!
The
decision, then, seems to be easy. Do His will and be blessed! Yet, many times, we fail to do. Did we not hear? Did we rebel? Will we still walk with Him? Repentance is
necessary.
Saints,
the decision should be easy. If we truly crucify the flesh and repent of past actions, then we can do as He directs. When we do, the blessing of obedience and the joy of life in Him becomes full! An
obedient life brings true "life." Love Him and be obedient!
