HE GAVE

For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.

John 3:16-17

From these verses, we can learn two great and wonderful things about our Father in heaven. First, He loves!! God created the world and all that is in it. He did not and does not want His creation, particularly mankind, to suffer and die for eternity. As stated in verse 3 above, God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son. That is, He gave Him up to bear our sins and to die in our place. The Word says that "greater love has no man than this, that he would lay down his life for another!" Father loved us so that He had His Son lay down His life for us!

Second, God was not wanting to judge the world or the people at the time that He sent His Son. He was wanting to offer to anyone who would believe eternal life with Him in His kingdom! All we had to do was to receive Christ as our Lord. Just walk in His ways which would give us "Zoe" life here and now. Eternal life with Him would be our gift from Father.

What a gift! Both the gift of His love and the gift of life in Him would be ours for all time! Saints, let us lay hold of that life! Let us spread the word of His great love so that many others could come to Him!! Praise Him!
