RESTORATION WITH
LOVE
Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in
a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:1-2
These two verses speak to the church's call to keep herself without sin in the camp. Some churches in
Paul's time, and in our times, have allowed compromise and sin to enter into the body of Christ. A body of believers who allow sin to invade will not be as powerful and as sanctified as she should
be.
It is up to the church (the saints of God) to not allow this. Sin must be addressed and removed
from the body. These verses call first for the sin to be recognized. We should not turn a "blind eye" to the actions of one or more who are sinning. Correction in love must happen. As the verse
states, those who are spiritual are to do the correction, and they should do so in love.
Verse two states that we are to bear one another's burdens. If any person needs help in
overcoming, then there should be some who are able and willing to come to the aid of those needing the assistance. By doing so, it will be in the love of Christ.
Finally, we each must be willing to be open to correction. The body must reach for perfection. We can
only do this as we help one another in love and for His glory!
Apostle James
