A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
But also
some of the Jewish exorcists,.. attempted to name over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."... And the evil spirit answered
and said to them, "I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"
Acts 19:13-15
The
importance of a personal relationship with Father through Jesus cannot be over stated. When we are facing the dangers of the enemy or the everyday challenges that we face, we must know who we are in
Jesus. The people in the above passage had no relationship. They only knew of what Paul had done through the name of Jesus.
To have
a personal relationship with Jesus, we must give our lives totally to Him. We must be willing to obey Him in every situation. We must have faith so that we know He will see us through every
challenge. That only comes from having experienced it in "real" life.
Jesus
said that if we were to follow Him, we must take up our cross daily. As we do, we find that the greatest joy we can have is to allow Him to use us to touch other people and bless them. Yes, we can
cast out demons! But to do so, we must "know" Him personally. We must seek His will in our lives in order to glorify Him! Praise His holy Name!!
