MOVE FORWARD IN
HIM
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through out Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my
beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
I Cor. 15:57-58
Saints, as we begin a new year, this admonishment from Paul should be a guiding light for
us. When we began following Christ, we were made soldiers in His army. As such, we must be prepared to fight; to take the victory; and to establish kingdom in the earth.
We must first be steadfast and immovable in our faith in Him! We must have as an anchor of
our soul the knowledge that He has overcome the enemy, defeated all His foes, and has set us free! Not only has He set us free, but He has empowered us by the Holy Spirit to overcome all the power
and the works of the enemy. We are to be victorious in Him for His glory. We are to work to establish His kingdom in the earth.
But knowing that the victory is His is not all! We must also go and do the works of the
Lord. As Paul said in the above scripture, we must al-ways be "abounding in the work." To abound means to have many. The work of the Lord is a never-ending journey. He has plans and assignments for
us all along our path. And our toil is not in vain! All of our effort by faith in Him will add souls to the kingdom for His glory and for the good of those who follow!
