IMITATORS OF GOD
Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a
fragrant aroma.
Ephesians 5:1-2
As children of the living God, we should want to show to the world the family of God. His family
is one of love. Therefore, we should desire to love Him and others. This is also a command of our Lord Jesus that we love others as He loved us and gave Himself for us.
Loving those who love us should never be an issue. That is easy! Loving someone who loves you
and desires the best for you will always bring out the best in us. They want to encourage us, and we should encourage them!
But, Jesus told us that we would be hated for His Name's sake. Just as they (the world) did not desire
Him, and neither will they desire us. They may even hate us because of Him for whom we stand.
But, Christ Jesus said to love them anyway! We can never expect to win the lost person until we
can love them as Christ did! He loved the world so much that He gave His life for them!
Are we willing to do that. It does not mean that we have to die physically, but we may have to
die to self and to worldly emotions. Let's do that and love as Jesus loved!
