THE ACCUSER
OF THE BRETHREN
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan
(Accuser) standing at his right hand to accuse him.
Zechariah 3:1
Satan has no power over the children of the Lord. He cannot make us do what he wants us to
do. He can only try to persuade us and tempt us to do so. Satan cannot afflict us as we are pro-tected by the Spirit of the Lord.
But he can accuse us. He can go before the Lord and accuse us of being wrong or of other
things. His power is that of accuser and discourager. If we listen to him, he will do both to us! He will tell us that we are not "good enough." He will tell us that we have no power. He will tell us
that we cannot overcome! All of these are lies that he would want us to believe. As he told Eve in the garden, "You shall not surely die!" If he can get us to believe his lies, then he will keep us
from the promises of our God!
Another verse which God's people should know is Revelation 12:10 which says in part, "..
for the accuser of the brethen has been thrown down,..."Through our Lord Jesus we have the victory! He
has defeated Satan and all of His (our) enemies! In the future, when the enemy comes, you can tell him to flee in the Name! The Name of Jesus is a strong tower for us. Satan can only accuse, but he
cannot stop us! We are covered by the Blood!!!
