A CHILD OF GOD
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" Therefore you are
no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
Galatians
4:6-7
We are
children of God because we have believed that His Son, Jesus, is the savior of the world. We have repented of our sins, and we have asked Father's forgiveness for our sins. Therefore, He has given us
His Holy Spirit by which we cry "Abba!" His Spirit in us is the spirit of adoption which brings us into His family.
Paul
wrote in the above scripture that we are no longer slaves. When we walked in the world, we were slaves of sin. We were under the domain of the enemy. Now, we have been set free from this slavery. We
have been given our freedom to be His child!
As His
children, we can walk in the hope and purpose of His calling. He has made it clear in the scriptures that He has plans for us. These plans will give us the purpose for our lives. As we are obedient
to Him, then we will see the fruit of the Spirit as He operates through us.
To walk
in relationship with Father is the greatest joy that we can have. To fulfill His plan is to bring joy not only to us, but to those whom we will serve. We can partner with Holy Spirit to introduce
others to the living relationship with Father! Allelujah!!
