HE DIVINE DELAY
Yet the
chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him. Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh had a dream, and behold, he was standing by the Nile
Genesis 40:23,
41:1
We know
the situation of Joseph; what he went through; the delays, etc. Yet every obstacle and in every trial of delay, he remained faithful to the call of the Lord God. He maintained the walk to which God
had called him.
This
should serve as a powerful message to each of us who seek to follow our Lord in a faithful manner. Time to God is not the same as time to us. God's plans for us and that to which we are called have
timing involved. We, in our natural flesh, are very impatient. If God says this will happen, we expect and want it now!! It is difficult to wait not knowing when it will
happen.
In the
midst of every situation, we must learn to walk in patience. We must learn to "wait upon the Lord." When His timing calls for something to happen, it will happen. Because it happens in His time, the
occurrence will be more powerful and bring a greater end. Knowing this, we must learn that valuable lession of waiting upon Him!
Joseph
had a dream when he was very young. The totality of that dream did not occur for approximately 20-25 years. Yet, when it did occur, it meant the salvation of the Jewish people. He waited and God did
a great and mighty thing!
