"But now take courage ( be strong), Zerubbabel," declares the Lord, "take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land, take courage," declares the Lord, "and work; for I am with you," says the Lord of hosts.
As Zerubbabel and the Israellites were working to rebuild the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, this message was given by prophetic word through Haggi. The enemy had sent those to them to discourage them from building. The brought accusation and insult along with a threat of battle.
The work was stopped for a little while because the people were afraid. But Haggai and others began to prophesy and encourage all the people. As the people heard the word of the Lord and began to strengthen their hearts, they began to work knowing the God was with them. They stood strong and took courage in the word of the Lord. They knew the enemy could not stop them.
Saints, as we continue in the plan of the Lord, we, too, must take heart and be strong. Let His Holy Spirit empower each of us to see all that God is going to do!!
