SET YOUR MIND
If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the
things that are on earth.
Colossians 3:1-2
As so many times in the word of God, when we see an "if" in the writing, we need to pay
special attention to what is said. This word usually sets conditions. In this case, it is setting the condition that one has been "raised up with Christ." If that is true, then certain other things
should be evident. In this case, if you have been raised up with Him, then there should be a corresponding change in your priorities.
If we have been raised with Him, then we should be seeking the things above, the things of
God. Our way of living, the priorities of our life, and the very nature of our thinking should all be altered. Instead of having our minds on the mundane things of life, we should be seeking and
hearing the things which God would have for us. This does not mean we should live with our "heads in the clouds," but that we should have different priorities and different
thinking.
As we walk through this life, as Christians we should be setting our goals to be pleasing
to Him. We should determine in our hearts to follow His plan. If we do, we will be pleasing to Him. And, we will be affecting the world with His presence wherever we are!
