                          DEAD TO SIN

For the death that He died, He died to sin, once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lusts,

                                        Romans 6:10-12

When Christ Jesus left His throne in heaven, He came to earth as a human. This was in obedience to His Father's will. He remained faithful to the call of His Father even to the death upon the cross where He died for the sins of all.

When Father, by the Spirit, raised Jesus from the dead, Jesus took His place on His throne in heaven, but He has continued to live in the will of His Father for the sake of those who believe in Him as their Lord and Savior.

Now, as followers of Christ through faith in Him and His finished work through the cross and His resurrection, we should also count ourselves as dead to our own fleshly desires. But we must see ourselves as alive to Him. We must not allow the sin of this realm; the lusts of our old nature, to control us. We must die to ourselves and our own evil desires and obey God giving glory to Him and to the Lord Jesus.

God, through Jesus Christ, has set us free. We can live in victory over sin and live unto Him giving Him glory!

                                        Apostle James
