SEEK THE THINGS ABOVE
If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3
These verses point us to the prime vision of our lives. While Father will bless us with material
and good things in this life, we are not to spend our lives seeking only the things of the world. We must remember that we are eternal beings! We will spend our eternity somewhere. The question for
each of us is where?
Now, if you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, then it is necessary for us to put His desires
for our lives as our first priority. He saved us; redeemed (ransomed) us; transformed us! Now we are to put His kingdom, His agenda, first in our lives. For, as Paul said, our lives are hidden in God
by Christ's actions. Therefore, we are to place kingdom above our own lives.
To keep seeking the things above, we must put everything else as second in priority. We are to
"set" our mind on the things above, His priorities, above all else. As we do, we will cement our eternity in Him. Not only will we be blessed and favored here in the earth, but we will rule and reign
with Him throughout eternity!
