              THE FREE GIFT OF CHRIST JESUS

     But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive you benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

                                                 Romans 6:22-23

     Hallelujah! We have been freed from the grip of sin in our lives. We no longer have to be en- slaved to the evil thoughts, lusts, and deeds. Through Christ Jesus, we have been ransomed from those things. We have been "enslaved to Father God." We are sanctified!

     To sanctify something is to set it aside for holy useage. When the Word says we have been sancitified, it is stating that we have been set aside for use by our Father. We are to be used for His kingdom and His glory. What a glorious thing for us! To glorify Christ is our hope!

     But, as we serve Him and serve His pur- poses, we gain more. Not only are we giving glory to Him, but we are receiving the "free gift" of eternal life with Him. And it is a free gift be- cause Jesus paid the price for us. He came and died in our place so that we could live for our Father God. We do not have to "work" for our salvation nor do we have to "earn" it. It is free to those who believe in Christ Jesus and serve Him! Let us serve Him with love knowing what He has done for us!
