                     HONORING THE LORD

O Lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; for Thou hast worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.

                                 Isaiah 25:1

To call someone or something a god, much less "their" god, is a highly controversial decision. The word "god" implies that one has placed someone above everything else in their life. They believe that god has power and wisdom above all others and even above the natural order. This god would be able to move mountains and would have all the knowledge and wisdom of the universe. This god would be supernatural!

In American this would go against many's values. It is believed that "all men are created equal." Many believe there is no god, only mankind. There is no belief of a god.

Yet, for us who do believe in the God of the universe, we believe in the supernatural creator of all. We believe that He rules and reigns from Heaven. We believe that He loves His creation, and the chief of that creation is the human race. And, that He loves all people.

We believe He loves and blesses those who call Him "Father" and receive as Lord of our lives His Son, Jesus! If we truly believe this, then we should honor God! We should put Him first in all of our thoughts and actions. If we believe He blesses and keeps us, then we should honor Him in word and deed including with earthly wealth He has given to us!
