A WOMAN OF EXCELLENCE

And now, my daughter, do not fear, I will do for you whatever you ask, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.

                                                                Ruth 3:11

    In the book of Ruth, the story of young woman who lost her husband is told. She was not an Israelite  but had married an Israelite man. When it seemed as though all was lost for the woman and her mother-in-law, they returned to Israel. This is a shadow of our coming to the Lord to come out of the world to the Lord Jesus.

     As they return to Israel, they have nothing.  But they have left the world, Moab, and have returned to the land of promise. There she meets and is redeemed (bought back from slavery by a type of Jesus) by the man Boaz. She is married to Boaz as Jesus is married to the church. And she becomes pregnant and gives birth to a man, Obed, who becomes the grandfather of King David! What a story!

     In all of her actions, she exhibited love, integrity, strength, and loyalty. She truly was a woman of excellence. Happy Motherr's Day to all the ladies! Women of excellence!
