                        THE PRUNING PROCESS

     I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it that it may bear more fruit.

                                                        John 15:1-2

     Two truths become evident upon inspection of these verses. As we seek to know more about our Lord and our life in Him, these verses provide great truth.

     First, to truly live, we must live in Him. He is the "Vine." We are branches from Him. We live because we are in Him and of Him. Our very life and its purpose is in Him and from Him. As we fulfill our purpose, we truly live and do not just exist!

     Secondly, if we are to live and know our purpose, we must "be about Father's business." That is, we are to be doing what our purpose is in Him! We cannot be living in Him and doing our own things in the world. Our focus must be on faithfully doing what He has called and purposed for us to do.

     As we do, He will prune us so that we can produce more fruit for His kingdom. Fruit producing is great and the more we do, the happier we  will be. Praise God!
