FROM THE HEART

But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. These are the things which defile the man.

                                                 Matthew 15:18-20a

     Jesus spoke of the extreme condition of our hearts. The Word of God is very clear concerning the heart of man. Ecc 9:3 says that the "hearts of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts."

     As we determine in our spirit to follow Jesus, it is at that moment that we must repent of what we have done, yes, but we must also repent of our hearts. We must allow the Holy Spirit to do a complete work of regeneration in our lives. We must die to sin and allow Jesus to live in our hearts.

     As we accomplish this, we can begin to live a more victorious life doing the things that Jesus would want for us to do! We can forgive others; allow the pain and hurt to be removed; and began to walk in the love of Christ! We can speak with honesty and not hypocrisy! In Christ, we can overcome our soul and our flesh! Allow Him to change us today!
