BELIEVING HIS WORD
"... God removed him into this country in which you are now living. And He gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot of ground; and yet, even when he had no child, He promised that He would give it to him as a possession, and to his offspring after him.
Acts 7: 4b-5
God's promises are always "yea and amen." Some of those promises are for the immediate time in which we find ourselves. Some, however, are for a time in the future. He reveals what we need to know at the time when we need to know it.
Those promises which are for the future must not be forgotten or put out of our mind. They must be remembered and spoken. Write them down if necessary so that they will not be out of mind. When God speaks, He does so "to give us a future and a hope." Those promises for the future give us a goal, a hope for tomorrow, a reason for living.
For us, it is to have faith to believe for these promises. We must stand firm and believe. As the Word speaks of Abraham, "He believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness." Stand firm and believe!
Apostle James
